Drag liquid glass, find the eye

Drag a blob of liquid glass and it stretches after your finger; through it you see an eye that only exists inside the glass. Each tap ripples the glass and wakes the eye. A shaderWhat is a shader?A small program that runs on the GPU and decides the color of a single pixel. The GPU runs it for every pixel at once. draws the glass as a fieldWhat is a field?A different value at every point in space, like temperature on a map. What you can do

  1. 01

    Stretch the glass

Hold and drag: the glass follows with a viscous lag and springs back when you let go.

  2. 02

    Find the eye

The eye lives behind the glass and follows your pointer; you only see it through the blob.

  3. 03

    Make ripples

Each tap sends a ripple through the glass; the eye dilates and blinks.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Drag and tap with your finger.

How is the glass drawn?

As a fieldWhat is a field?A different value at every point in space, like temperature on a map. Noise is a field: each coordinate has its number. Bending, adding or cutting fields is where almost all texture comes from.: each point adds the pull of every blob, and the glass begins where the sum passes 1. Its edge bends the light behind it like a lens.
